When developing Sunseeker, I dreamed of a trip along the Amalfi Coast, wandering through endless citrus groves and soaking up the glorious Italian sun before ending the day with an ice-cold Negroni. Heavenly! The candle combines the image of sparkling, juicy citrus fruits with the bitter, aromatic herbs typical of aperitivos.
Memory: Paul's relaxing vacation in the Italian countryside. Scents of warm summer air, al fresco dining at sunset, and balmy orange groves.
The scent
The fragrance was carefully developed by perfumers Céline Barel and Meabh McCurtin at IFF (International Flavors and Fragrances) to remain true to Paul Smith's individual sensibility. The specially selected ingredients include fine natural oils sourced from LMR Natural (Laboratoire Monique Remy), one of the world's most renowned raw material suppliers, long a supplier to the world's finest perfumers.
The glass
Crafted from two-tone, complementary glass, the vessels are designed for reuse. They come with a lid that doubles as a trivet to protect surfaces from heat and spills.
The interplay of light and color was key to the design of the striking vessels, which, when lit, subtly evoke Paul Smith's signature stripe. Even the box, with its unique zipper design, was carefully considered and is a nod to Paul Smith's expertise as a tailor.
Application
Carefully open the bottle of liquid and slowly pour the entire contents into the glass jar. Then, attach the cuff and insert the reeds. It can take up to 24 hours for the reeds to fully absorb the fragrance. For optimal fragrance diffusion, place the jar in a room with good air circulation and rotate the reeds occasionally. Be careful not to place the diffuser near any surface edges. If you plan to reuse the jar, do not put it in the dishwasher.
