A summer afternoon, fading from transparent blue to liquid magenta. Melting mango ice cream, coconut tan, and bare shoulders dotted with warm freckles and shimmering sea mist. Sweet pea, pink pepper, and creamy gardenia shimmer over a base of warm sandalwood and cashmere. The scent of a summer day that never ends and a balmy night that should never end.
The effect
Enter a sun-drenched, enchanted tropical oasis of blooming gardenias, juicy mangoes, and coconuts. A vibrant splash of pink peppercorn adds an intriguing, spicy note, creating an enticing first impression. It evokes a warm breeze, sun-kissed skin, and the carefree beauty of a tropical paradise.
The inspiration
Muse was inspired by his own muse—the artist and brand founder Andrea Maack. The fragrance has a playful character with an underlying elegance. Muse is a tribute to romance, art, freedom, and individuality. Maack's fragrance collection originated from a series of fragrant art exhibitions in which she presented her visual artworks and has since developed a life of its own.
The scent
Muse is a lush bouquet of flowers in itself and a milestone. For this fragrance, Maack teamed up with Parisian master perfumer Domitille Michalon, known for her work with floral scents and the creator of some of the most beloved perfumes, such as Flowerbomb by Victor & Rolf.
Muse is filled with gardenia (Maack's favorite flower) with a touch of sweetness from mango cream and coconut. Its distinctive side is expressed through pink peppercorn and a note of sweet pea, rounded off by a woody base of luxurious sandalwood and cashmere.
#beyourownmuse: We invite all perfume lovers to experience this unmistakable classic floral fragrance in Andrea Maack's own interpretation. Andrea Maack celebrates her 10th anniversary and the development of her fragrances with her first true floral fragrance, Muse.
The bottle
For the anniversary fragrance, Maack teamed up with LA-based artist and illustrator Regina Yatzy to create the visuals. The duo designed custom bottles, packaging, branding, and an exclusive tote bag, inspired by the founder and the fragrance. The fragrance's name and concept aptly emerged between the two over a floral cocktail and a sketch on a hotel napkin in LA.
Yatzy wanted to celebrate Maack as the founder and muse of her own collection, who paved the way for others in the world of niche perfumery and broke the rules of what conventional perfumery should look (and smell). Over the years, Maack has gathered her own coven, which lives up to its name, as Coven is her bestseller, a green, dirty fragrance that she was told would never sell.
