To celebrate the beginning of spring and the annual vigorous rebirth of nature, Ben Gorham, founder and Creative Director of Byredo has introduced a wild garden with a floral fragrance that captures the power and beauty of the flowers, just at the exact moment in which they reach their dramatic climax.
The result is the wonderfully titled "Inflorescence", an Arcadian stroll through untamed bowers of wild garden foliage, full-blown rambling roses, interspersed by the intoxicating, honeyed notes of pink freesias in their prime. Two of the earliest spring flowers are at the heart of the fragrance: the creamy, gentle charm of magnolia whose petals are fully open and just about to drop onto beds of quivering lily of the valley. Those delicate “May Bells” which in the language of flowers symbolizes a "return of happiness" and the joys, associated with the verdant onset of spring.
Finally, and most unusually, Ben Gorham has used jasmine in the base, again overgrown and luxurious, offering a veritable riot of fresh “grazia”, which supports the structure and delivers an exhilarating drydown.
