With Acqua di Scandalo, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato set himself a challenge: he wanted to create a new expression of the sea in perfumery. Iodine-rich, aromatic and mineral. Completely Mediterranean, completely Corsica... A fragrance landscape as surprising as the place that inspired it: the La Scandola peninsula in western Corsica.
The nature reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site can only be reached by sea. A streamlined fragrance that reflects three elements: the sea, distilled from a special algae extract with facets as clear and salty as the turquoise water. The untamed nature, translated by the aromatic liveliness of juniper and the spicy aroma of immortelle. Moss-covered, velvety rocks. Ochre colours like warm sand or skin, salty from the sea, kissed by the sun.
Marc-Antoine Corticchiato on Acqua di Scandola
"The sea is in my blood, and Scandola is a magical place that I visit again and again with fishermen who know every rock and every corner there. At every hour and every season, the colour changes on land and in the sea. These flashes of colour inspired me as a perfumer. As part of my current quest for naturalness and clarity, I wanted to express the marine accord without resorting to clichéd and artificial aquatic molecules. I found the solution in an exceptional algae extract that was adapted to reflect my vision of Scandola's breathtaking beauty."
