Between Dream and Reality. The Khamsin plies its inimitable course between Israel and Egypt, carrying with it a unique perfumed expression of the freshness of orange blossom and the scent of dates. At the end of this journey it inhales the notes of leather floating above all the market stalls in Cairo.
Sonia’s Inspiration
The mirages which appear from nowhere in the desert have always fascinated the most hardened explorers, hovering between dream and reality. But the desert is alive, and this slow odyssey, this plunge into the desert, towards Siwa and such never-ending sensations inspired for me this very special association: the subtlety of date married to that of orange blossom enveloped by the softness of leather and suede, an untameable melange which so gently complements the subtle fragrance of the skin.
The Leather Collection – Wind Concept
Khamsin is a dry, hot, sandy local wind affecting Egypt. In the entire Mediterranean basin, winds have different local names, such as Bad-i-sad-o-bistroz in Iran and Afghanistan, Haboob in the Sudan, Aajej in southern Morocco, Ghibli in Tunis, Harmattan in the western Maghreb, Africo in Italy, Sirocco which blows in winter over much of the Middle East, and Simoom. From the Arabic word for “fifty”, these dry, sand-filled windstorms blow sporadically in Egypt over a fifty-day period in spring, hence the name.
The brand identity
Femininity, spirit of discovery, timeless luxury, depth, uniqueness.
"As a perfumer, I have always seen my work as a way to speak to the subconscious of others. I awaken their curiosity and invite them on a journey. They gain insight into my memories and can make their own discoveries. My creations are real destinations, places that anyone can travel to. I don't make rules, I just make suggestions." - Sonia Constant
