Michelangelo Buonarroti lived to be almost 90, an exceptionally old age for that time. During his long life, he created works of great genius and beauty, such as ‘The Last Judgement’ in the Sistine Chapel and David: works of art that are famous throughout the world.
A special characteristic of Michelangelo inspired Onyrico to dedicate a fragrance to him. Like a seer, he imagined things and saw them before he realised them as a sculptor; his works were hidden in lifeless stone. He could see how the stone was transformed into a quivering muscle, a tendon that would trigger overwhelming emotions – pushing the boundaries to the limit, shaking people up and awakening the desire to think, even about the things we shy away from most. The fragrance journey begins in the province of Arezzo, rich in beech, chestnut, cypress, berries and figs in incredible variety.
At the heart of the fragrance is the fig, masterfully presented by yellow notes of grapefruit, accompanied by delicious wild currant. A hint of magnolia gives the fragrance a multi-layered soul, expressing the duality of the fig tree in a delicate balance between the feminine and masculine, proclaiming the message that art, as a pure expression of the soul, is unique.
A swirl of incense, hidden in the form of marble, is revealed in the heart to express the sense of deep spirituality, the atmosphere in which Michelangelo worked.
Hyacinth and galbanum characterise his work, and to achieve immortality, we awaken ancient memories in the depths of our minds. Onyrico has refined the composition with earthy nagarmotha, woody cedar notes, patchouli, vetiver and labdanum.
