The seemingly mysterious combination of numbers and colours, 17 Rosso (Italian for red), refers to the address of Roberto Ugolini's workshop in Via dei Michelozzi in Florence. The house number is 17 R, where R stands for Rosso, red. In Florence, red numbers indicate commercial or public places such as restaurants or shops, while blue and black numbers indicate private houses. If you want to visit Roberto Ugolini in person, be sure to tell your driver ‘17 Rosso’; otherwise, you could easily end up somewhere else entirely, as the red house numbers are not aligned with the black ones. Once you have mastered this charming Florentine hurdle, you will find yourself standing in front of the shoemaker's inconspicuous door, between an osteria and a café. As simple as the doorway is, the world of traditional craftsmanship that presents itself to you is utterly fascinating. The finest materials and artistic genius are paired with a passion for the extraordinary. Roberto Ugolini stands for uncompromising quality and an extravagant Italian style like no other. Appreciated worldwide, the master craftsman has become one of the best bespoke shoemakers of his time.
17 Rosso Limited – the fragrance
The top note of 17 Rosso Limited promises a fascinating fragrance experience: bergamot and raspberry unfold a fresh, fruity breeze enveloped by the dark sweetness of cassis. A warm contrast unfolds in the heart: honey and a leather accord combine to form a sensual connection, rounded off by the woody nuances of cedarwood. The fragrance is anchored in the base note with the earthy depth of patchouli, the exotic warmth of Buddha wood and the velvety softness of white musk. Amber and oud lend the fragrance a luxurious depth and a hint of the Orient.
17 Rosso Limited Edition underlines the passion for exceptional craftsmanship with a particularly high concentration of fragrance oil (35%), hence its designation as an Extrait de Parfum. The Limited Edition 17 Rosso is limited to 1,200 pieces. As with all fragrances in the collection, the concept was created by Herbert Stricker and realised by perfumers Christian Calabrò and Maurizio Cerizza.
