Bengale Rouge was inspired by Liz's Bengal cats and the evocative scent of their warm, sun-kissed fur. Golden fur enveloped in sandalwood and drizzled with honey. Sweet myrrh purrs behind warm, rosy skin, sprinkled with oak moss and speckled with the rich colours of leopard fur. Comforting caramel glows in a gourmand heart, while tonka creeps up on the skin with its opulent sensuality.
Inspiration of the perfumer
"The muse for this perfume is my Bengal cat, Mimi. I have always been fascinated by the beauty of her coat and her natural scent. I didn't want to create a fragrance directly, but rather to capture the notes that lie in her leopard fur. It was important to me that this perfume would convey the warmth and comfort that so many of us get from our pets, but I also wanted to do justice to Mimi's natural elegance and grace. I stayed away from dramatic, wild notes and focused on a tame cosiness that would surround the wearer with the same comfort and joy I feel when I am with her. I wanted to add some oriental facets that reflect the origins of Bengal cats: unique, elegant and impressive. I wanted to capture the majesty and mystery of these wonderful creatures in a precious and soft perfume."
