Castle Forbes - Forbes of Forbes

With the fragrance ‘Forbes of Forbes’, Castle Forbes presents a perfume with a classic chypre note, which, with its many facets, can only be produced by hand.

Fresh top notes of orange, mandarin and pineapple meet a spicy heart of basil, oak moss and pine, supported by ambergris accompanied by clove, patchouli and vanilla.

A highly distinguished and aristocratic fragrance, produced within the Castle Forbes Collection in what is probably the world's smallest perfume factory. This is thanks to the descendants of the first Lord of Scotland, who still reside in Castle Forbes, built in 1815.

Inspired by the scents of the Scottish Highlands that surround the castle, the collection of exclusively hand-made, characterful colognes and naturally made accessoires pay tribute to history of the clan.

Mehr über Castle Forbes

The Forbes clan can look back on an impressive family history, which can be traced back to the 12th century to John Forbes, who already owned land in Aberdeenshire at that time. The current Forbes Castle was built in 1815 by the 17th Lord Forbes near the River Don and offers an excellent view of the surrounding estate. Today, his descendant Malcolm, the current Lord of Forbes, lives there with his wife Jinny. In addition to the opportunity for holidaymakers to spend a few days in these illustrious surroundings, the Forbes have even more to offer: their own perfume factory. This was created in 1996 out of Jinny's love of fragrances and was realised together with a friend of the family, perfumer Andrew French, in the castle's former dairy.

The result is a small but exquisite range of handmade fragrances, whose packaging pays tribute to their Scottish origins: wrapped in typical tartan patterns and decorated with the Forbes family crest, the stag's head, they bring us a little piece of Scotland.
