L'Artisan Parfumeur is probably one of the most popular French companies in the niche fragrance segment today. There are various reasons for this, one of which is certainly that the company has been on the market since 1976. It was founded by Jean-François Laporte with the aim, intention and aspiration of breaking new ground in olfaction by drawing on traditional French perfumery. L'Artisan Parfumeur has succeeded in doing this time and time again, despite the departure of its founder Laporte, who sought new challenges and founded Maître Parfumeur et Gantier. The house is always at the forefront, especially when it comes to setting new trends. One example was the development of the fig note with the fragrance ‘Premier Figuier’, which triggered a whole wave of fig scents on the perfume market in the mid-'90s.


The company's pioneering role in trends can be traced back above all to its policy, which has now found numerous imitators in the perfume industry: L'Artisan Parfumeur is open to creative ideas from outside the company. New fragrances and fragrance concepts are often brought to the company by young talents and implemented jointly. The creative input is therefore very high. Although L'Artisan Parfumeur has now secured the services of the gifted Bertrand Duchaufour, various other perfumers also work for the company.


It is therefore not surprising that L'Artisan Parfumeur now has a very broad and extremely diverse range of fragrances, each with its own distinctive signature – the repertoire is so large that every fragrance lover is sure to find at least one must-have.
