Trudon – the royal ball
"This Christmas, Trudon is building on the wealth of Versailles: even more balls and masked balls, once staged by Louis XV in Versailles, are being brought to life. Festivities where anything is possible. Wealthy guests mingle with the people, celebrating the glory of the king, with the masked ball taking centre stage. The king mingles incognito with the guests in the magnificent Hall of Mirrors, surrounded by the intoxicating splendour of the festivities!" – Julien Pruvost, Creative Director
Intoxicating moments at court
The splendour of the court shines in a shimmering collection of reflections, gilding, large chandeliers, tassels and thick curtains; equally extravagant is the collection of scented Christmas candles designed in collaboration with aesthete and historian Serdar Gülgün. The fine workmanship underlines the magnificently elegant character.
The essence of royalty
These celebrations reached their luxurious and magnificent peak at the Bal des Ifs, where the king mingled with his guests in the magnificent Hall of Mirrors. The collection of Christmas candles, created in collaboration with Serdar Gülgün, reflects the splendour of the Hall of Mirrors and is equally extravagant. The four scented candles exude the royal way of life. The inside is covered with 24-carat gold leaf, while the outside brings a royal décor to life with stylised chandeliers, pendants and curtains. The decorations are embossed in hot gold and frame the golden coat of arms of the Royal Manufactory. On the back of the candle, a decorative chandelier adorns the signature of Serdar Gülgün.
Rich, fragrant emotions
The opulence of the collection is also evident in the richly lacquered glasses: the two iconic fragrances Gloria and Fir are available in red and black lacquered glasses, while Angelo and Arosa, two exclusive creations, are adorned with emerald green and gold-coloured lacquered glass.
Gloria is a warm, woody fragrance with spicy notes, while Fir contains intense woody notes. Angelo, exclusive to this season, unfolds as a pleasant woody-amber fragrance: rich in culinary notes of orange and cinnamon, Angelo blends cashmere wood and marron glacé before revealing musk notes in the base.
Arosa, on the other hand, invites the feminine note of rose and the subdued character of amber to the festivities. The rose fragrance is a true woody bouquet containing a rich blend of amber, sandalwood, cashmere wood and cedar notes, rounded off by a light hint of vanilla. Together, the four festive candles form a fragrant quartet that celebrates the many intoxicating moments of Christmas, whether joyful, soothing, warm or floral.
‘I work as a translator. I translate the old into the new. It's about capturing the ambiguity of the past and reinventing it in the light of the future.’ – Serdar Gülgün, designer
