The top notes are as fresh as a breeze blowing down from treeless mountain peaks: rough granite, cold air from the glacier and bitter Alpine herbs. The heart notes are fresh and green with a hint of spice. Floral delights such as the Alpine lily bloom in lush meadows, powdery, spicy, green. The base notes were inspired by the Alpine forests on rocky slopes: the woody warmth of conifers, larch and beech with the sweet amber scent of dry earth in the sun.
Inspiration
When time allows, I love to hike in the mountains. I start in the valley with lush green meadows and dark fir forests with the scent of warm ambergris. L'Air des Alpes Suisses is inspired by these moments, green, fresh and amber-scented. A perfume that brings back memories of wonderful days in the Alps. The higher you hike, the more often you come across open spaces with wild flowers that bloom during the short mountain summers. The herbaceous, spicy scent of alpine pastures with a hint of lily and orchid, mixed with the fresh breeze coming from the rugged mountain peaks. L'Air des Alpes Suisses is an invitation to explore this wonderful scenery.
The Alps
The Alps are the highest and most extensive mountain range entirely within Europe, separating southern from central and western Europe. They stretch for approximately 1,200 km across eight Alpine countries (from west to east): France, Switzerland, Monaco, Italy, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany and Slovenia. The mountains were formed over ten million years ago when the African and Eurasian tectonic plates collided. The enormous forces released by this event caused marine sedimentary rock to rise and unfold into high mountain peaks such as Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.
Mont Blanc straddles the French-Italian border and, at 4,810 m, is the highest mountain in the Alps. The Alpine region comprises around a hundred peaks higher than 4,000 m.
The height and size of this mountain range influence the climate in Europe. Precipitation varies greatly in the mountains, leading to different climatic conditions in the respective mountain zones. Wild animals such as ibex live on higher peaks at an altitude of around 3,400 metres, and plants such as edelweiss grow both in rocky areas at lower altitudes and on higher elevations. L'Air des Alpes Suisses is an eau de parfum, unisex and suitable for wearing all day long, all year round.
L'Air des Alpes Suisses is composed of the highest quality ingredients. Several accords play with the theme of hiking from the valley with its small villages high up into the land of ice and snow: the woody accords are based on notes of ambergris, tonka bean, fir and birch wood, and dried pine needles. The floral notes of lily and orchid soothe the spicy orchestra of wild thyme and basil, rosewood, nutmeg, mountain lavender and a dash of lemon balm.
