Blanche
Blanche is an olfactory impression of the colour white, as Gorham, the creative mind behind Byredo, explains: ‘As the name suggests, Blanche is a composition that explores my perception of the colour white.’
But that's not all: the fragrance is also dedicated to a very special person, as Gorham reveals: "For the first time, I had a specific person in mind for whom this perfume was dedicated. I wanted to capture the innocent and unspoiled side of their personality with an almost transparent fragrance. The perfume is a tribute to their timeless beauty, a pure and straightforward fragrance that captivates with its extreme character."
Gorham associates Blanche with the beginning of a new day, when the sunlight penetrates the fresh morning air, making its way through light linen curtains into the room, leaving bright streaks on the floorboards and shining on ‘her’ white shoulder, tenderly caressing her cheek and illuminating her silhouette. In the distance, children's laughter can be heard from another room. A new day begins and everything lies ahead of us.

The formula
The formula contains a high percentage of shea butter (20%). Shea butter comes from the shea nut tree, better known as the karité tree or African butter tree, which grows in West Africa. Shea butter is traded there or used for medicinal purposes, but also for beauty care.

The formula contains a blend of moisturisers that have been tested for long-lasting hydration (a combination of glycol and xylitol). The nourishing properties of shea butter are supported by the moisturising power of natural sugar, xylitol. The sugar attracts water molecules, allowing the skin to absorb and retain moisture.
