With Oud-Couture, Zarko Ahlmann Pavlov has allowed himself a little play on words. Haute couture becomes an oud fragrance to wear or spray on. The Fashion Molecule, as it is called at Zarkoperfume, dares to tackle a major theme, a legendary ingredient of perfumery, eaglewood or oud. It goes without saying that Zarko's result is not an intense oriental fragrance, but a molecular interpretation of the famous oud.
The molecule of Oud-Couture is intended to be an exploration of the countless components of perfumes and their accords. It is intended to delve into traditions, craftsmanship and their history and at the same time build a bridge to the present and the future.
The woody and spicy basic impression of Oud-Couture begins with an appetising opening of citrusy notes of mandarin, neroli and bergamot. The heart is full of spices: fresh, spicy cardamom, aromatic black pepper and the fine tartness of vanilla. Oud, soft sandalwood, rosewood and herbaceous vetiver are used in the base. Oud couture is immersed in woody notes and dreamlike spices. Zarkoperfume thus achieves the feat of creating a completely new oud, an oud that has never been smelled before. A fantastic vision by Danish fragrance artist Zarko Ahlmann Pavlov, steeped in tradition and yet looking to the future of perfumery.
