As is often the case, James Heeley's creative process began with a single ingredient: labdanum concrète, a precious resin with rich, complex facets of smoky wood, amber, honey and dried dates. These notes transport us back to ancient Phoenicia, around 1200 BC.
The Phoenicians were not only the first to cultivate grapes and press them into delicious wine, but also legendary seafarers with a highly developed culture. Their skills as navigators, traders and craftsmen were unrivalled: they traded in precious metals, fine textiles, leather and exotic woods. They also invented the legendary Tyrian Purple, a rare purple dye that was once reserved for the robes of emperors.
Phoenician Leather was inspired by this fascinating advanced civilisation. A fragrance full of depth, shrouded in mystery and nobility. It combines notes of smoke and resin with the modern elegance of fine woods to create an olfactory masterpiece.
A fragrance like a journey through time and space – powerful, sophisticated and at the same time timelessly sensual.
