Dense palm trees, heavy with fresh rain. Natural exuberance, created in the tropical rainforest and the urban jungle.
That is Sueño Latino. It is the treetops of the Amazon and the bright pink walls of Mexican architect Luis Barragán.
The blossoms of exotic plants and nights spent dancing to the rhythm of salsa. Hearts and hands full of ripe fruit – and even more: it is the spirit that survives the heat. ‘A fragrance is ultimately a dream you experience with your eyes closed,’ says Karl Bradl, co-founder of Aedes de Venustas.
Sueño Latino captures the warmth of humid tropical air, the softness of sun-ripened fruits combined with spices and precious woods. Not a clichéd image of exotic faraway places, but the memory of a night when the heat lingers on the skin and the air is heavy with fragrance.
An olfactory fantasy, reinterpreted
Sueño Latino is not a simple journey to the tropics, but the fragrant interpretation of a dream image – lush, sensual and yet refined, carried by the typical Aedes signature of resinous woods. Karl Bradl and Robert Gerstner developed the creation together with perfumer Gabriela Chelariu, who gave this new fragrance genre of fruity leather a radiant modernity. ‘It is opulent and rich, yet infused with moist, earthy facets. Lots of moss, lots of moisture – inspired by the elements of nature,’ says Chelariu. ‘A fairy-tale world full of life.’
From rainforest essences to urban elegance
The fragrance journey begins with South American treasures: Brazilian red pepper and Peruvian pink pepper. The latter is extracted using Firgood technology, a particularly gentle process that captures the full aromatic depth: fruity, citrusy, lively. This spicy duo brings luminosity to the opening and energy to every subsequent nuance. It refines the herbaceous, spicy notes of davana leaves and the delicate freshness of bergamot peel, leading to a radiant heart of pink mango and milky fig.
The composition reflects the diversity of climatic moods: Mysore sandalwood is reminiscent of damp forest floors, while a soft suede musk lies like a breath of fabric on the skin. A base of Paraguayan guaiac wood, fresh olibanum resin, amber and patchouli gives the fragrance depth, texture and a hint of smokiness.
