A sweet and fruity Arabic temptation – this is certainly true of Black II by Widian.
The opening is excellent: a juicy but not overripe and therefore not overly sweet, but rather fruity plum, which appears side by side with cheerful mandarin slices and becomes increasingly full and sweet – and thus also more opulent. The rose does not take too long to appear: a fruity, youthful rose with a restrained sweetness. It is perfectly matched to the top notes and forms a wonderful combination with sandalwood: the sandalwood is warm and spicy, almost balsamic, seductive and sensual in its sweetness, while a pleasant tart woodiness provides balance. Simply a wonderful combination of sandalwood and rose.
Widian expresses this expressively and gets everything right: the fruits in the top notes, the heart completely devoted to this wonderful combination. And the base, which is wonderfully underscored by vanilla cream and a hint of tart moss.
Bottle and packaging
The bottle and packaging of the Black Collection are inspired by the magnificent architecture of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, which was officially opened in 2007 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest in the world.
The interwoven patterns on the bottle and packaging reflect the careful craftsmanship of the mosque's arches and domes, emphasising the uniqueness and quality of the fragrances inside.
Opening the packaging is like opening a door to another world that combines the familiar and the unfamiliar in equal measure and offers a magical experience.
