William S. Burroughs was the most experimental and avant-garde figure of the Beat Generation, the one who developed the complexity of the novel the furthest. Oscar Wilde was his refuge in his youth, and later he led a bohemian life and loved extreme excesses. His first novel, Junky, describes the cold reality of addiction.
Junky by Jardin d'Écrivains bears a certain resemblance to an olfactory addiction. Perfume has the power to transport us to a higher plane and actually influences our behavior. Perfume reveals something intimate to others, but also to the person wearing it.
A complex and unique fragrance. There are three important phases in its development: the top note contains a hint of fresh hemp. The mysterious heart note brings out the creamy scent of gardenia, iris, and violet, combining them with the dry, woody notes of cashmeran, cedar, and juniper, softened by incense, gentle myrrh, and the aroma of Java vetiver.
“Junky” is unashamedly different and invites originality and ‘factualism,’ to borrow Burroughs' vocabulary.
