"In modern times, awareness of our senses is essential for a rich quality of life. The sense of smell is the most powerful of all the senses. Perfume can enhance our moods and evoke meaningful memories. It is an invisible source of happiness and wellbeing. Everyday." - Heike Jeannette Hegmann
An Ode to the Forest
The perfume "In the Woods" was inspired by the unique scent of Canadian hemlock and was developed in collaboration with the young French perfumer Clement Salva. He leads us through an almost forgotten landscape of carefree childhood days: the forest. Millions of years ago the earth was covered by forests. Its smell is still deeply rooted in our genes and associated with vitality. It would be impossible to imagine poetry, fairy tales, literature or paintings free from trees and woods, so it is now time to pay them olfactory tribute.
"In the Woods" is a tribute to the woods and brings to life long-forgotten fragrant images: with "In the Woods", we dive into the powerful silence and touching mysticism of the forest. Its aromas are gently caressed by sparkling pink pepper, fresh mint, elemi and geranium. Precious labdanum, the "dew of heaven", and valuable notes of cedarwood and ambergris lend the perfume a comfortable warmth and subtle sensuality. We are one with nature, returning to our origins to regain new strength.
Special Fragrance Composition: Woody at all Levels
In order to offer something really out of the ordinary for the exclusive niche market, "In the Woods" has undergone a unique fragrance construction. Three different wood notes in the top, middle and base give the fragrance a unique dramaturgy: Canadian hemlock, Siberian pine and North American fir balsam merge to pay tribute to the seductive power of the forest. The finest raw materials and a very high percentage of natural essences turn "In the Woods" into a special treasure that develops its sublime beauty upon contact with the skin.
Canadian Hemlock:
The oil of the hemlock is extracted from the needles. Even the Indians used it as a mood elevator. There are vast forests in Canada where the trees can be over 170 m high and up to 500 years old. The wood of the hemlock is very durable and is used for the construction of luxury saunas.
Siberian Pine:
Pine trees are among the oldest trees in the world. The oil is extracted from the needles and stems of trees in the least polluted Taiga region of Siberia. The pine nuts from Siberian pine are often consumed in Russia. They contain a high proportion of serotonin (happiness hormone) and vitamins.
North American Fir Balsam:
The Fir Balsam grows mainly in New England. The Absolute is obtained from the balsam of fir cones and from the tree by scarifying the bark. Fir balsam was even mentioned in the Bible.
Flacon and Packaging
The seductive and archaic power of the fragrance contrasts with the linear elegance of the flacon made by Paris glass manufacturer, Pochet du Courval. The label and the outer packaging are presented in a subtle silver-green, which is reminiscent of the revitalizing aroma of Canadian Fir. Akin to a watermark, a delicate “WOODS” appears on the front of the packaging. Its interior, however, explosively unfolds the whole world of the fragrance theme: The photo of a mystical forest adorns the inside of the carton and prepares us for a unique fragrance experience.
