Perfectly composed and as sparkling as the bouquet of a vintage champagne, this floral and spicy fragrance caresses the skin. Infused with a blend of saffron and patchouli-kissed petals, it exudes an incomparable flair: the freshness of a rose field is subtly overlaid with the vintage touch of a fine red wine.
The first sniff is reminiscent of a lazy late summer evening shortly after dusk. A door swings open, the scent of flowers wafts in and enlivens the stagnant heat. It is the scent of a rose blossom that is neither dark red nor pale pink. Its colour is more of a rare pastel red, so pale that it almost appears grey. Its petals curl, it is in full bloom, as round as a thick teacup and filled to the brim with the nuances of precious spices and woods.
The inspiration for this composition came from the still life aesthetic of the Aedes Perfumery in New York City's Lower East Side. The exquisite perfumery is famous for its enchanting interior: opulent arrangements of flowers and ostrich feathers spill out of majestic vases, magnificently prepared peacocks strut through the ambience and dramatically draped velvet and silk panels transform the small shop into a veritable boudoir. A hint of incense hangs in the air and captivates the nose.
The basic ingredient for the perfume inspired by this is a type of rose that originally comes from Ecuador and is now cultivated in France. Its vintage look is as breathtakingly beguiling as its fragrance. An impression that matches the perfume perfectly and gives it its name: Amnesia Rose.
