Rumor had it that Nasra was the most beautiful woman in the Gulf. She had the darkest secrets and the biggest dreams. Nasra was the epitome of beauty and mystery. The pearl diver was ready to take the plunge. He grabbed his basket, swung his leg around the rope, and lowered himself into the water. When he returned, he had a special treasure for Nasra—a sapphire set in gold and studded with emeralds. Larger than any other stone in the world.

An old perfume recipe
In 1812, after losing the war, many French soldiers and officers wandered through Russia, searching for a way home. Some of them found employment with Russian nobles as French teachers for their children. One of them was François de La Lenes, who stayed with the family of Count Artuchowski. As a token of his love, he gave the lady of the house two perfume recipes, which the family managed to preserve despite the Russian revolutions, emigration and wars. It was not until 2015, more than 200 years later, that the great-great-granddaughter and founder of the Len Fragrance brand, Jelena von Olnhausen, transformed both recipes into real fragrances. Four other fragrances were added. The six fragrances form the first line called ‘Histoire Privée’ (Private History). Each of the six perfumes in the ‘Histoire Privée’ range tells a very private love story and is a key to our memories. That is why the Len Fragrance logo is an old key knob, which is depicted on all magnetic lids. A short love story is told on each package.
The founder of Len
From an early age, Jelena Gräfin Artuchowkaja von Olnhausen was inspired by her family history to become interested in beautiful fragrances. This fascination was sparked by the French perfume recipes of perfumer François de la Lenes, which her family managed to preserve despite the turmoil of revolution, emigration and war, as well as her parents' unusually large private perfume collection. Although she successfully completed her studies in economic policy with a doctorate, she soon lost interest in further academic study and worked as a journalist, auctioneer and gallery owner before devoting herself intensively to her passion for wonderful fragrances. The creation of Len Fragrance was successfully completed in November 2018.
This extraordinary achievement was recognised by the Fragrance Foundation just six months later. Parfum Jeux Dangereux impressed the experienced DUFTSTARS jury and was named the winner in the Artistic Independent Perfumes category.
Len Fragrance combines graceful, exquisite aromas with special love stories and appealing, creative elements. Curated by Jelena von Olnhausen, who works side by side with a team of widely recognised noses and one of the world's best designers and most famous artists, Len Fragrance is breaking new ground in research, keeping the door open to new forms of olfactory poetry.
