V Canto - B.B.

Sigismondo Pandolfo Malastesta summoned Basinio Basini to his court with the task of composing poems and songs that would leave a glorious echo of the splendid court life conceived by the lord of Gradara. Basinio was not only a very diligent and prolific writer, but also an enthusiastic explorer of all things new and mysterious, venturing beyond the boundaries of the known and into the realm of the marvellous.

Far ahead of his time, his profound irony gave him a sharp wit that was as refined as it was daring. This fragrance is an expression of a similarly daring elation, as revealed by the fuchsia-coloured bottle – as modern and daring as the artist who inspired it.

B.B. embodies the daring irony of seduction and is a creation for all those who set their own rules and follow the fluid spirit of our deepest, most hidden passions.

The V Canto collection was inspired by one of the most beautiful love stories in the world and by a love for one's roots and homeland.

For over 700 years, the Terenzi family has lived near the Castello di Gradara, one of the oldest castles in Italy. This family of travellers and explorers settled among the beautiful hills, forests and the Adriatic Sea, a family that loves to come home after their adventures, to a place where the scents and colours are dominated by the blue velvet shadows of the sea.

Much of the creative energy and love of beauty that characterises all the Terenzi's works comes from this wild but beautiful area.

Breathing the air beneath the great tower, rich in history and secrets, walking along the high walls of the castle, once defended by our ancestors with their lives, building sandcastles on the beach and dreaming while standing at the highest point of the cliffs – this brings our souls closer to who we are and allows us to understand history.

Even the poet prince Dante Alighieri, one of the greatest figures Italy has ever seen, honoured this place with a chapter of his most famous work: the Comedìa, better known as the Divine Comedy. A poem written in tercets with endecasillabi (eleven-syllable lines) in Florentine dialect, composed between 1304 and 1321. The Comedy is one of the most important testimonies of medieval culture; known and studied worldwide, it is considered the greatest literary work of all time.
