A warm cognac aroma for the skin. The mild yet sensually sweet cognac bouquet is created by a composition of vanilla, plum, caramel, orange, and apricot.
The deeply indulgent composition is further enriched by incense, the aromas of pressed grapes, and nuances of violet. Finally, Pierre spices the perfume with black and pink pepper, smoky resin oils, and rounds it off with a sophisticated tonka bean note.
Modern phytoperfumery
The term "art" primarily encompasses the products of the "finest arts": architecture, sculpture, painting, music, dance, and literature. Film is often included as the seventh art. For the eighth anniversary of his Parfumerie Générale line, perfumer Pierre Guillaume takes up the critic Octavian Coifan's idea that perfumery might be "The Eighth Art" and presents his new creations under the name Black Collection.
The Black Collection comprises eight fragrance creations. What makes them special is that all perfumes contain natural, plant-based ingredients of organic quality combined with synthetic fragrance molecules—a synergy of natural, often organic essences and synthetic accords (phyto-perfumery) that reflect the plants of their creator, Pierre Guillaume's imagination.
Each of the Black Collection fragrances contains only two to three essences, thus breaking with the traditional fragrance pyramid. This creates an elegant and distinctively clear identity.
