What could perfumer Zarko Ahlmann Pavlov have meant by the name ‘e'L’? Presumably it is the French elle - she. And since the entire collection was inspired by the world of chemistry and molecules, this abstract abbreviation probably came about.
The Danish fragrance house itself solves the mystery of who is meant by ‘she’. It is Zarko's wife Lene. Just as he fell in love with Lene, it was the fragrance ‘e'L’ that seduced him into the fragrant craft in the first place.
Zarko capitalised on the often cool and synthetic expression of molecular fragrances. Tart, fruity pomegranate and marvellous white flowers are presented in a Nordic coolness. Leaving the classic fragrance pyramid behind, the different notes flow side by side, penetrate each other, separate again and convey an iridescent and sparkling impression. Green notes, which come mainly from green tea, are joined by swirling, airy, fresh, almost cold ozonic notes. These are accompanied by soft notes of musk and woods. They convey cosiness, comfort, to stay with the Scandinavians: ‘hygge’.
Zarko's basic idea behind ‘e'L’ was to provide fragrant support for a woman in the midst of everyday life, with all its tasks and challenges. And in the form of luxury that surrounds her permanently.
