The inspiration for Sospeso comes from an old Neapolitan custom, people used to leave an already paid coffee, called "caffè sospeso". A gesture of great kindness towards humanity.

The Boellis brand dates back to the barber shop of the same name in the heart of Naples, which was founded in 1924 by Antonio Boellis. He was drawn from the Sicilian countryside to the big city, where he sought his fortune. His father had succeeded with a pair of scissors, he was a gifted tailor, and Don Antonio added a comb to the scissors and became a barber. It took him a while to build up a reputation – partly because, as a few people may still remember, he was known for not particularly liking to shave. His son Peppino Boellis developed the concept of the house further and perfected it: he opened a small salon in Via Vetriera and, after a few years, transformed the business into a kind of social meeting place, a gentlemen's salon similar to a club, where people met and had their hair cut and shaved. In addition, the Boellis salon became known throughout Naples for its distinctive haircuts.
Antonio and Michele Boellis, Peppino's sons, continue their father's and grandfather's tradition today: Michele also became a barber, while Antonio is responsible for the Boellis Panama 1924 line, which is committed to the old traditions.
Boellis thus represents a piece of genuine Italian art of living – especially for men. And it has enjoyed lasting success: Boellis has been named one of the best Italian small, independent perfume houses in the fragrance and cosmetics sector by both Worth Robb Report, an American magazine specialising in luxury goods, and Cosmoprof – and consumers agree: Boellis enjoys a loyal following among our male customers.
