Note de Yuzu is a collaboration between Maison Kitsuné and Heeley Parfums. A multi-layered mix of electro-pop, fashion and a multicultural blend of English, French and Japanese notes. The result is an irresistible unisex fragrance.
Note de Yuzu is the first fragrance from the multifaceted Maison Kitsuné brand, founded in 2002 by Gildas Loaëc, former manager of French electro-pop duo Daft Punk, and Masala Kuroki, a young architect.
This Paris-Tokyo label draws its influences from the world of fashion through its unique ‘art de vivre’ as a fashion brand, music label and the associated Café Kitsuné. English-born, Paris-based perfumer and designer James Heeley has been working with Maison Kitsuné for some time, designing and producing their scented candles.
His collection of Eaux de Parfum includes fragrances that are available worldwide and also in Japan. Note de Yuzu exudes the energy and vitality of the Japanese yuzu fruit, whose fruitiness and freshness make your mouth water. A colourful and radiant energy that he associates with Maison Kitsuné and that James wants to express with this fragrance.
A blend of English, French and Japanese influences, this remarkable unisex fragrance will be irresistible to men and women alike, from Paris to Tokyo. The direct freshness of the fragrance develops into an aquatic note that reveals a slight saltiness on the skin, reminiscent of the traditional Japanese yuzu bath.
Although citrus notes are mostly associated with summer in Europe, the yuzu fruit represents winter in Japan. At the time of the winter solstice, also known as Tōji, the Japanese enjoy a warm, relaxing yuzu bath. The yellow fruits float on the surface of the water, releasing their fragrance; this Japanese tradition is said to maintain health, impart youthfulness and promote well-being.
