Parfum d'Empire - Un Bel Amour d’Été

Parfum d'Empire - Un Bel Amour d’Été

Forever Love. It’s the feeling that you’ve met the love of your life. Mad passion against a backdrop of blue waves, hot shiny skins embracing on warm sand, exhaling the scent of white flowers and their animalic notes.

Forever Summer. How do you capture in a bottle the high intensity of these sun-drenched idylls? How can you translate a season of pleasures on the beach that thrills all your senses? Here, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato has crafted the quintessential beach scent, gorging it with the sumptuous natural ingredients he blends so masterfully in his compositions.

Forever Flowers. Flesh-soft corollas waft fleshly scents melding skin and petals, suffused with sun-kissed eroticism. Rounded and milky, gardenia is the beating heart of the fragrance. It is enhanced by a radiant magnolia flower essence with nuances of apricot, and the golden languor of ylang absolute.

Forever Solar. The rare and exotic tropical cousin of magnolia, champaca lends the balsamic, jasmine-y, oily lavishness of its absolute to this mirage of floral flesh. Blond vanilla from Madagascar conjures golden skin. The essence of Indian sandalwood intensifies the creamy sensation of this vahine’s bouquet. Precious ambrette, a vegetal musk, sheds its light on silky sand. Carnal and solar, the perfume blooms on skin in a searingly sensuous evocation of an unforgettable, beautiful summer love.

In the Perfumer’s Words
“First loves, secret loves, forbidden loves… As I was honing a gardenia and magnolia accord, suddenly the scent of my beautiful summer love came back to me. I thought I’d lost it, but though my love story only lasted one season, its fragrance had marked me forever.

So, I dove into this unctuous, suntanned note, imagining a summer of love on the beach. Moments of passion, as madly intense as they can be when you are young. When you have the incredible luxury of being carefree. Of feeling that everything is possible, boundlessly. Before you understand, much later, that what you experienced was un bel amour d’été, a beautiful summer love.” — Marc-Antoine Corticchiato

Parfum d'Empire was founded in 2003 by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, a Corsican who is both the owner and perfumer of the company.

Corticchiato was born in Morocco and spent his entire childhood and youth between the lemon fields of the Moroccan countryside and the Corsican forests near Cuttoli Corticchiato, where his family lives. He developed a passion for fragrances and aromas at an early age, and only his enthusiasm for horse riding could have seriously jeopardised his career as a perfumer.

Although a career as a competitive rider seemed almost inevitable, Marc-Antoine Corticchiato decided to study chemistry, graduating with a PhD (doctorate). But that wasn't enough: he went on to study at the renowned ISIPCA in Versailles, the place where the best perfume makers are trained. With this perfect starting point for a career as a perfumer, the foundation was laid for his own perfume house, Parfum d'Empire.

The bottle is a reference to the long, round container created in 1804 by Jean Marie Farina, which is suitable for storage in the shaft of a military boot. The glass is heavy and a laurel wreath shines on the golden cap. Corticchiato spent years conducting archival research to trace the scents of bygone eras. The resulting concept for his historically inspired perfumes was awarded a prize by the French Ministry of Research.
