The Diamante lemon (Citrus medica “Diamante”, Italian: Cedro di Diamante) is a type of lemon named after the small town of Diamante in Calabria, on the south-west coast of Italy. The Diamante lemon is the most famous lemon in Calabria and has been praised by poets such as Byron and D'Annunzio. The Cedro di Diamante has a unique quality, is not sour and has a fresh and sweet aroma, often found as an ingredient in culinary delicacies. Due to its high furocoumarin content, the fruit had fallen into oblivion among perfumers since the 1980s. With innovative technology, the oil can now be extracted completely free of furocoumarins. The precious citrus essence is infused with a mix of flowers and spices and finishes with iris and musk. The radiant freshness of this fragrance lasts longer than any other known citrus fragrance.
The Italian collection from Perris
In the search for exquisite materials around the world, the inspiration for these new products comes from enchanting Italy. This selection of fragrances represents the highlights of Capua's citrus fruits. Capua, a small town not far from Naples, has been the centre of essential citrus oil production since 1880. Gian Luca Perris, the creative fragrance designer at Perris Monte Carlo, was fascinated by how the latest technologies and traditional methods are combined in oil extraction there. These fragrances are a tribute to Italian citrus fruits, capturing the warmth of the sun's rays and touching the heart. They emphasise the natural character of lemons with hints of cedar, mandarin and bergamot.
