Long ago, when Portugal was not yet Portugal, the Moorish king Ibn-Almundim ruled Chelb in the Algarve. Returning victorious from a conquest, he brought with him many captives, including Gilda, a beautiful queen from the northern lands.
Although initially content, Gilda became increasingly sad and deeply longed for the whiteness of the snow. The healers could not cure her sadness until the king, on the advice of a mysterious woman, filled the valley with blossoming almond trees. When Gilda saw the valley covered in white blossoms, her joy returned.
Since then, the Algarve has been the realm of almond blossoms and the custodian of this ancient history. Chemin d'Amande is a warm breeze of wheat, pierced by the whiteness of a freshly picked almond. Its gentle warmth carries notes of enveloping sweetness.
Collection Extraits de Voyage
Night. The mind wanders. Our eyes rest on the moon’s glow. The silence of the sleeping world excites our imagination. Here we find enchanted lands, magic, and mystery. And legends. We go from story to story, changing destinations, heroes, and landscapes. Our collection of ‘Extraits de Voyage’ is a scent exploration of these real and imagined stories, passed down from generation to generation. — Alexandra & Philippe
