Founder and perfumer Aurélien Guichard enriched the original Falcon Leather Eau de Parfum with Oud Assafi oil from Bangladesh as an additional ingredient. Combined with a higher fragrance concentration and an even higher dosage of the natural main ingredient, birch tar from Finland, this exceptional oud adds warmth and enhances the leather notes in Falcon Leather.

Each fragrance from Matière Première is based on a central natural ingredient, used in the highest possible concentration. Aurélien Guichard is the founder and perfumer of the house, which is based between Paris and Grasse. He reveals the unique texture and most beautiful facets of each main ingredient in the language of modern, direct and understandable fragrances.
‘My formulas are short. I want you to feel the natural beauty of the raw material at the heart of my perfumes. Our mission is in our name: Matière Première is French for raw material.’
The house produces its own roses and tuberoses, which are organically grown in the Grasse region.
‘I am the only perfumer who grows his own raw materials. We have great respect for nature and local expertise.’
Excellence and quality are at the heart of everything we do at Matière Première. The finest natural ingredients are selected from around the world, with a preference for ethically and organically produced products.
‘My first act of creation is to select the right ingredients according to the terroir, production methods and processing.’
The fragrances are composed to offer an incomparable sillage, an emotional impression that never fades.
‘I work with high concentrations. A fragrance with a pulse that emanates and lingers will always be associated with significant moments.’ The perfumes from Matière Première contain between 85% and 92% natural ingredients. They are vegan and free from phthalates. Their colour comes exclusively from their ingredients, without any colourants.
‘Like a rich and powerful wine, our perfumes are concentrates of exceptional natural substances. I take particular care to deepen every phase of development, from maturation to maceration, to ensure their unique quality.’
