The Eau de Toilette from the 34 Boulevard Saint Germain line by Diptyque was created to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary. 34 attempts to capture the scent of the first boutique, which was located at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain, with its extremely rare and precious notes. The result is a fragrance with a new and complex signature.
It was created around a chypre base, where woody notes and lemon balm create a feel-good atmosphere and are addictive at the same time. Around 40 raw materials were used to create this fragrance.
The top notes consist of sparkling blackcurrant and green leaves, rounded off by the freshness of rose pepper and citrus notes combined with clove, cinnamon and cardamom. The heart tells a story of flowers such as rose, Egyptian geranium and a hint of tuberose, which are given a softer and more vibrant aroma by a splash of iris and violet. The base is a combination of woods, lemon balm and resins, which give the fragrance its wonderful smoothness, as well as a pleasant tingling eucalyptus. This makes 34 a rich and sensual eau de toilette that can be worn by both women and men.
The Flacon
As a sign of ultimate luxury the Eau de Toilette flacon is kept absolutely simple. Transparent glass and on top, the closure made of thick black bakelite, like a seal that bears the engraving of the address, 34 Boulevard Saint Germain.
The concave bottom of the bottle is reminiscent of the rounded shape of the paperweight in the boutique, which are sold as decorative objects with rounded printed fabric edges, since the first Christmas at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain.
