The inspiration for Baruti's ‘Indigo’ was the bright blue summer sky, with music playing in the background and the never-ending hustle and bustle of city life becoming an unreal hum.
What colour is the endless summer sky, how can you describe this blue with its incredible depth? Is it dark blue, azure blue or indigo? Let's call it indigo. We are lying on a sun lounger on a roof terrace. The city lies at our feet, the sounds of the streets reach us as if from another world, the traffic, the shouting, the ringing of telephones – muffled by cotton wool and so pleasantly distant. Up here, we have cut ourselves off, here we rest, transported to the sky – for a while.
Mastic in all its glory, green, spicy and almost salty, earthy, and then a heavenly hint of incense – two resins from two different worlds. In their field of tension, notes of hyacinth, honey-sweet rose and woods – cedarwood and sandalwood – and a rounding off of ambergris romp about. The composition also contains the mysterious, in-house oud replica Nooud, which is also available as a standalone fragrance in the collection.
