A cheerful fragrance that reveals a hidden world. I built the fragrance around four roots: vetiver, cypriol, iris and liquorice. These four roots are joined by carrot, chamomile and celery. Finally, ambrox plays an important role in the background, rounding off and taming the earthy facets of vetiver. I also played with the nutty facets of vetiver and ignored the traditional grapefruit notes that perfumers usually emphasise when working with this material.
The rough, earthy feel of vetiver and cypriol is balanced by the roundness of iris, the freshness of celery and the sweet, childlike joy of chamomile. I didn't want an intrusive fragrance, but rather a relaxing one. Vetiver is said to have a calming effect, and indeed Racine Carrée is an intimate fragrance that conveys a sense of quiet presence. The ingredients in this new perfume have been carefully selected for their olfactory properties and sustainability.
Racine Carrée in figures
- 20% Haitian vetiver oil (by weight of the formula).
- 0.2040% of allergens only in the final product. (Geraniol, linalool and limonene are naturally present in the essential oils of carrot, clary sage and chamomile).
- 72.5% natural (percentage of natural and nature-derived ingredients by weight of the formula).
- Innovative ingredients from ‘green chemistry’ and ‘white technology’: Ambrox, Fixamber, Biomuguet (white technology uses the properties of bacteria that produce odour molecules under certain conditions).
‘The fragrance is also a response to the challenges of our times, in which we are all living in a constantly changing world. More than ever, we need solid ground beneath our feet. We need roots that take us back to our origins, to our essence. Racine Carrée is my answer to this need for stability, normality and security. Remember your roots!’ Anatole Lebreton
