is the epitome of a self-made man, which is reflected in his work as well as in the perfectionism that characterises each of his creations. For decades, Mateu has been one of the specialists at Puig, one of the world's most renowned perfume companies. During this time, he has developed numerous fragrances, all of which bear his personal signature: countless bestsellers for brands such as Paco Rabanne, Carolina Herrera, Nina Ricci, Ermenegildo Zegna, Quorum and Etienne Aigner.

After working for some of the biggest international brands, Mateu devoted part of his time to more ambitious projects such as developing bespoke perfumes, which led him to study subjects as diverse as Greek civilisation, the Roman Empire and the paintings of Francis Bacon. In the latter case, he took on the challenge of creating a fragrance for an exhibition dedicated to the English painter. He spent months studying the smell of paints, canvases and even the era in which Bacon lived and worked. The result gives an idea of the intensity of commitment that this experienced maestro brings to each of his projects.

In 2010, he was one of only a handful of perfumers in Europe to be awarded the honorary title of ‘Distinguished Parfumeur’. In 2017, he took on a new challenge: creating his first collection under his own label – consisting of five noble fragrances that can be worn by both men and women. With his collection, Rosendo Mateu has quickly proven why he is considered one of the best perfumers in the world. The result is a series of olfactory masterpieces from the hand of a creator who has devoted almost his entire life to the world of fragrance.
